What is cassava flour?
Cassava flour is a fibre-rich flour made from cassava roots and has the same white colour and texture as other types of flour. Cassava is gluten-free, nut-free and grain-free, making it the perfect baking option for allergic consumers. It's a very versatile baking flour for making many different cassava flour recipes. Cassava flour is the dehydrated and grounded version of the tuber, which makes a good dough for bakers looking to spice up their pastries.
What's the difference between cassava flour and regular flour?
Although cassava flour, wheat flour and any other types of baking flour can be used in kitchen recipes, they have some differences that make each one better than the other. With regard to texture, cassava flour is slightly denser than regular flour. It is low in fat, and unlike wheat flour which may contain gluten, it is perfect for people with gluten intolerance and auto-immune digestive disease. Compared to other flour, cassava flour has lower calorie density than flour like corn, plantain, sorghum, coconut, rice, and wheat.
